The Regional Distribution Director North America will be a member of the Global Supply Chain leadership team and will have responsibility for inbound and outbound logistics and distribution center operations management across the North American region.

This position will be accountable for driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, service and cost year over year. The candidate will drive projects and initiatives to improve customer experience and shareholder return using the Danaher Business System (DBS) tools. They will establish a regional distribution strategy which aligns to the North American business requirements and will ensure successful implementation and sustainment of process improvements.

Leica Biosystems sells a diverse range of Cancer Diagnostics and Pathology instruments and consumables internationally. Ideally the candidate will have proven experience of distribution, logistics procurement and management. Scope of role includes safe storage and goods movement of dangerous goods, sensitive instruments, cold chain items through ocean, air, truck and small pack global transportation modes.

This position is considered a growth role within the organization with potential for expanded leadership opportunities. The candidate must have experience developing and managing regional teams. They will be comfortable networking with internal and external stakeholders and partners. They will also be excellent analysts and capable of taking complex data sets and distilling them into actionable information.

Responsibilities we will trust you with:

* Maintain a safe work environment for employees and execute risk reduction programs such as 4E, 5S and Kamishibai

* Responsible for dangerous goods regulatory compliance across logistics and distribution operations.

* Manage, coach and develop their organization. Improve employee engagement year over year.

* Responsible for developing and executing a North American distribution strategy, which will drive optimal customer service, reduce operations costs and improve working capital turns.

* Develop business plans for future investments and necessary business changes.

* Implement regional logistics platform improvements such as FAP, WMS, TMS and warehouse expansion to support growth.

* Responsibility for developing and managing logistics, distribution P&L and budgets.

* Management of logistics contracts, payment and monthly accrual processes.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

* Bachelors minimum, Master of Science, Master of Supply chain or/and MBA preferred

* 10 years+ hands on experience in North American Distribution and Logistics management

* Demonstrated competency is the use of lean tools and techniques to drive productivity, reduce cost, improve delivery performance

* Direct employee management, development and coaching experience

* Proven change management leadership skills

* Logistics and warehouse experience mandatory

* Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement experience required

Travel: 10% - 20%
