Description
This position will serve as a technical resource within the Power Delivery Operations Support Communications group.
Operations Support is the lens through which the Control Center Operators see our system and is made up of four teams. The Training team which provides the foundation to understand and operate the system. The Applications Support team which maintains over a dozen applications and over 30 reports to ensure timely identification and resolution of system issues for ITS, Operations, and TMCs, Modeling and Engineering Support team which verifies the system models and accurately reflects our system to ensure all control, analog and alarm points function properly. the Communication Support team which maintains critical application and communications pathways that allow operators to view the control system.
The Communication Support team ensures reliable, safe, and secure critical systems while providing superior support and service to the Distribution Control Centers. The team is made up of engineers, analysts and specialists providing tier 1 and tier 2 support to our customers for a network of servers and applications that form the Distribution SCADA system. The DSCADA system allows Distribution System Operators at the Distribution Control Centers (DCC) to remotely monitor and control distribution equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations for our employees and customers. Additionally, the team works closely with the Technology Organization, SCS Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Distribution Automation groups to develop, resolve, and enhance communications to substation, transmission line, and distribution line remote terminal units (RTUs).
NOTE: The position is currently located in Atlanta, but the position will begin reporting to Lithia Springs in 2022 or later.
Position responsibilities include all aspects of production support, solution delivery, and managing applications and/or reporting tools. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team with strong focus on technology, innovation and efficiency, and will be responsible for a variety of assignments that could include but are not limited to: application development, operations support, and providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer support.
Key Responsibilities

* Day-to-Day, maintain existing applications and work with our customers to develop new impactful solutions to help distribution operations.
* Provide hands-on support for applications critical to business operations and support for the Distribution Control Centers.
* Provide root cause analysis for incidents and troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple technologies.
* Provide support and troubleshooting for the Distribution SCADA system.
* Participate in on-call rotation for system support.
* Focus on providing the best operator experience for our customers.

* Responsible for interacting with the users/customers to obtain information and share information needed for successful system implementation, upgrades, usage and maintenance experience.

Requirements
* Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields preferred but not required.
* Application development experience (C or equivalent preferred)
* Experience with Git or other version control systems is a plus.
* Previous experience providing end-user support to multiple user groups is a plus.
* Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting applications is a plus.
Ability to obtain Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and Insider Threat Program (ITP) security clearance is required.
