This is a year-round Co-Op in Cleveland, Ohio. It will require at least 1-2 days in the office for now.
Purpose of the Internship Program:
Develop individuals by exposing them to real problems and responsibilities in a large corporation while providing assistance to the Global Supply Chain Divisions Distribution Accounting group. Individuals who gain an understanding of the company and perform well while in this position will likely have an opportunity to join Sherwin-Williams in a full-time role after graduation.
Position Responsibilities:
Assist Freight Payment team with the following responsibilities:
* Review Daily Match Error Report and resolve invoice and BOL discrepancies
* Review returned/rejected invoices from our Third Party Processing Vendor (DDI) and determine the cause while making appropriate corrections
* Review aging reports supplied by vendor/carrier and apply payment status information
* Update freight data which includes posting check data on invoices, sending invoices to DDI, invoice tracking, and checking payment status for corrected invoices
* Assist with miscellaneous freight payment projects
Assist supervisor with the following responsibilities:
* Review shipments lacking freight information and assigning freight codes and account strings to shipments to ensure proper accounting of freight charges.
* Review and assign picking class data to new and existing products
* Assist distribution group with monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
* Assist with miscellaneous projects
General Description of the Job:
This position will be responsible for assisting the Distribution Accounting department with its various functions. The individual will have an opportunity to learn about the distribution of products from the companys plants and distribution centers. Specific areas of focus will include the freight, handling, and storage of Sherwin-Williams inventory. The person in this position will also be exposed to other aspects of accounting associated with the companys distribution centers.
Minimum Requirements:
* Enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program with a focus in Finance or Accounting
* Availability to work approximately 15 to 20 hours per week
* Good interpersonal skills
* Problem-solving mentality
* Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is a plus
* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is a plus
