Patient Care Technician Opportunity on our G17 Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Unit
The Patient Care Technician provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse. Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care. Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.
The inpatient Stem Cell Transplant & Cellular Therapy unit is a 48 beds Unit. We perform around 800 transplants per year, about half of which are comprised of Allogeneic cells from sources that include matched identical, syngeneic, matched unrelated, haploidentical and cord blood donors. Stem Cell Transplant is a potentially curable treatment for many types of cancer, particularly hematological diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of recent experience working as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources. Prefer one year of recent experience working in direct patient care.
Shift: 7 am - 7 pm / 7am-3pm / 3pm - 11pm and 26 out of 52 weekends per year

REQUIREMENTS
Education Required High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Preferred: One year of recent experience working as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting.
Licensure/Certification Preferred: Nursing Assistant Certification
Other Required Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
