Job Description
This role will manage the Quality, Safety, Environmental and Regulatory functions of ABBP Ensures the effective implementation of programs and activities to maintain and insure compliance with the Company (KORE) policies, procedures, practices and norms of the Company and regulatory bodies. Direct the planning, coordination, management, and control of all functions within the unit. Lead the Quality Assurance Laboratories, the Packaging Laboratory, the Integrated Management System (Quality, Food Safety, Environmental, and Occupational Safety), measures performance and continuous improvement of the quality functions of the plant. Member of local Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute QSE business plan aligned to CRI, ABBP and QA Distributed Work Team strategies.
Assure compliance with all quality assurance, environmental and occupational safety procedures established by Corporate, regulatory agencies, and TCC Quality System (KORE).
Analyze and solve problems in conjunction with plant management and CQA.
Assure the effectiveness and execution of the Integrated Quality System which includes Quality, Environmental and Safety.
Provide leadership and direct support to the plant in the management of the quality function.
Main liaison with CCR and Franchise bottlers for quality matters.
Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the QS.
Manage the supplier audit program.
Maintains relationship and alignment with other CPS plants, business and key stakeholders in Coca-Cola Refreshment (CCR).
Participate and promote activities with the OE Team that contribute toward continuous improvement (5s, workplace audit, T Cards, Idea Cards, Big C, Tip Plan, Communication Center, etc.).
People Manager Functions:
Provides direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
Ensures direct reports or project team members have clarity about their roles and responsibilities.
Ensures appropriate and needed resources in support of others are available and accessible so desired outcomes can be achieved.
Provides experiences, recognition, rewards, and resources that are focused on the development and motivation of individuals.
Provides feedback and development to others to support their ability to complete their work responsibilities effectively.
Holds regular discussions with each direct report to discuss progress toward goals, review and provide performance feedback, review development progress, and acknowledge achievement of objectives.
Ensures the compliance of Company policies and procedures.
Manages the progressive corrective action process of direct reports.
Completes on time the investigations and reports of direct reports incidents related to occupational accidents, disciplinary actions, unfulfilled procedures or working instructions, corrective actions, etc.
Integrated Management System General Responsibilities:
Participates in the definition of individual and team objectives / metrics that contribute to continuous improvement, focusing on the quality, occupational safety and environmental aspects.
Performs job responsibilities in compliance with the requirements established in the programs of Occupational Safety, Environmental, Quality, Safety and Food Defense and the GMP policy (including ISO 22002).
Support a QA Laboratory operation in compliance with ISO 17025 by ensuring impartiality and confidentiality of the processes.
Assures to understand and to have the skills and necessary certifications of programs and working instructions, training in quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations applicable to the job.
Notifies immediately any accident or incident which could cause a potential risk in the working area, related to environmental and occupational safety aspects or that can affect the quality and safety of the product or plant indicators.
Uses the Communication Center and the corrective action system and tools to register and to establish action plans for the effective solution of process deviations and to prevent the reoccurrence of non-conformances.
Participates or supports all activities related to occupational safety, environmental and quality programs in order to promote the development of knowledge and skills (Corrective Actions, preventive actions, periodical training, and quality meetings, among others).
Knows the plant indicators and how own job responsibilities can impact them.
Contributes to the continuous improvement process sharing innovative ideas, recommendations and notifying Manager of any discrepancy between current practices and documentation.
Support all initiatives that encourage improvement in all environmental, occupational safety and quality aspects of the processes and work environment to reduce human errors.
Each associate has the authority to perform the position functions and to make decisions including the cases of stopping the use of materials, production or the shipment of products, when the quality, product integrity, safety of self and others, property, environment, community, the health of consumers, etc. is in jeopardy.
Requirements:
Education: BS in Science, Food Science or Engineering
Experience: At least 10 years of previous work experience in the Quality, Safety, Environmental and Operations areas.
Functional Competencies
Laboratory Practices: Knowledge and application of Good Laboratory Practices (e.g., handling of chemicals and glassware, preparation of standards and reagents, proper measuring techniques, data management, housekeeping).
Quality Assurance Principles: Knowledge and application of quality cost analysis, inspection, corrective action planning, customer and consumer satisfaction tracking, internal monitoring in order to detect and correct non-conforming information, materials or processes using modern quality problem-solving tools.
Food Science: Knowledge of principles and techniques of basic food science and their application to the beverage industry.
Basic Project Management: Knowledge of project management principles and the ability to apply the principles, tools and techniques to develop/plan, manage or execute projects or work plans to ensure successful completion (e.g., on time, within budget).
5. Building Technical Relationships: Ability to apply technical knowledge and establish credibility with highly technical audiences in order to build technical relationships that will benefit customers or the Company.
