The Opportunity

You will mentor and advise your team to help our customers, while working in a lively team environment. As a Manager, you'll spend your day guiding your team, ensuring procedures are followed and serving as a liaison between the collections teams and senior management. With three Collections Centers in the U.S., the Collections team is responsible for collecting on past due auto accounts. The team receives extensive training with an emphasis on compliance, and negotiating and selling skills to ensure collection routines are consistent and based on industry best practices. Visit http://www.ally.com/ to learn more. Responsible for leading supervisors and staff within the Asset Recovery Center. Includes performance and leadership of the Skip, Loss and EMW department as well as controls and compliance of given areas. Coordinates procedures to ensure that they are carried out according to established policies. Fully knowledgeable of assigned product or functional area, with a detailed understanding of the entire Asset Recovery functions. Coordinates training and development of subordinate the team, including related projects and functions. Recommends and implements changes to procedures. Reviews and prepares periodic reports. Runs capacity planning and distributes the work load.

The Work Itself

* Review the daily recoveries report for recovery trends measured on recovery dollars, liquidation rates and operating expenses Review department strategies as needed to meet monthly performance objectives.
* Approve account settlements and waivers, and noted in appropriate systems (Auto-IMS or Debt Manager)
* Review monthly control logs Completes risk assessments and implements controls to mitigate compliance and operation risks
* Handles Asset Recovery Supervisors and their respective teams of Representatives.
* Maintains a detailed understanding of the entire Asset Recovery function.
* Train and develop subordinate supervisors and staff.
* Assists in formulation of and handling within department budget.
* Recommends and implements changes in procedures.
* Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
* Identify gaps and make recommendations for efficiency gains.

The Skills You Bring

* 5 + years in customer service or financial services industry is needed.
* 5+ years leadership experience preferred Conflict resolution skills Negotiation skills
* Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred, MBA is preferred
* Industry knowledge Change - time management skills Operational improvement skills Proficiency in leading a department; product knowledge Oral - written communication Discretion; ability to multitask Familiar with company policies - procedures; attention to detail Professional phone etiquette.
