We are seeking a results-oriented Product Development Designer to join us in Allentown, PA. The successful incumbent will be responsible for developing new equipment designs and drawings for world-class machinery solutions. You will help design packaged equipment and accessory systems to satisfy both internal business areas and external customers' needs. By focusing on meeting customer expectations and optimizing cost, performance, and reliability, your participation in product development will enhance the competitive position of Rotoflow.

Your efforts will directly impact customer experience and influence product development while interacting with internal and external partners across multiple subject areas.

Responsibilities Include:

* Uphold the Rotoflow safety philosophy for both the workplace and products
* Design new products or improve existing products to meet or exceed customers expectations, are market competitive, and exhibit high reliability and performance.
* Product design ownership and system integration from early concept through commercialization, including concept generation, feasibility analysis, detailed design, prototyping, and commercialization.
* Create 2D drawings and 3D models to support product development engineering. Drawings include layouts, piping and instrumentation drawings, general arrangement drawings, detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and a host of other documents.
* Support the generation of marketing materials for new and existing product lines.
* Lead or participate in R&D efforts associated with new equipment design
* Collaborate with suppliers and customers
* Maintain effective relationships with all work team members, suppliers, and customers (both internal and external)
* Support continuous improvement and flawless execution
* Execute within product budget and schedule requirements
* Generate customer-facing proposal documents for delivery to internal customers or sales/business development managers for external customers
* Drive cost reductions through standardization and execution efficiencies

Desired attributes, skills, and experience:

* Associates Degree in Mechanical Design Technology or a related field
* 10+ years experience in equipment design
* Demonstrated proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD tools
* Formal GD&T training
* Strong analytical skills
* Detail-oriented
* Self-starter with strong initiative
* Customer focus
* Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organization, leadership, and time management skills
* Effective team building and strong collaboration
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, suppliers in shop, office, and field environments
* Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously

Differentiating Qualifications

* High speed rotating machinery experience
* Proficiency with Microstation for 2D CAD
* Proficiency with Solidworks for 3D CAD and documented certifications
* Proficiency with GD&T
* Part tolerance stack-up analysis
* Proficiency with SAP
* Proficiency with MRP systems
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
* FEA experience
* Turning, milling, welding, or additive manufacturing experience
* Piping design, structural design, manufacturing, machine shop, or welding experience
* Database design
* Knowledge of packaged accessory systems (lubrication and seal gas)
* Java, VB, C, C, Python, or similar programming experience
