Amazon's Employee Services Technology (ES Tech) is looking for a Software Development Engineer to help support and build next gen Disability and Leave Integration (DALI) product suite.

DALI products deliver leave of absence, disability and accommodation services to Amazon employees in U.S. We are expanding our current team, to enable case manager and employee self-sufficiency by providing simple, intuitive self-service tools across devices using communities, lightning, and other Salesforce next gen technologies across 60+ countries. Driven by innovation, our mission is to invent and simplify the customer experience. We will extend the overall case manager, self-service strategy and user experience for our employees and partners by integrating it with other Amazon cross systems and platforms using AWS technologies, content management system (CMS), and analytics ensuring a consistent global experience.

As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you will own the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery and support of new capabilities leveraging AWS stack and Salesforce. You will lead an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative customer experiences that help Amazon Disability and Leave Services. Work with a team of world-class Software Development engineers, Salesforce developers and business system analysts to understand and refine the scope of incoming projects/user stories, and to ensure deliverables meet an unreasonably high quality bar. Challenging the status quo to foster innovation, create solutions that distributes the system resource usage to meet and exceed the Amazon growth. Actively experiment and prototype with novel technologies that improve the customer experience and solve business needs. Organize, participate and lead in collaborative Q&A sessions, workshops, presentations to share your technical know-how with the rest of the team

A successful Software Development Engineer will have a broad array of experiences, exceptional design skills, an excellent ability to solve problems, good communication skills and a desire to be a key technical contributor. As a lead Software developer you will be responsible for developing product functionalities that spans across multiple software platforms including but not limited to AWS, and Salesforce. Daily work will involve interacting with cross functional teams, engineers, stakeholders and managers. You will lead by example in implementing solutions that are extensible, simple and can withstand large customer volumes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Instill usage of design patterns, re-use and efficient coding best practices to deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
Mentor Software Development Engineers, Salesforce developers, and TPMs on software development best practices, design, software patterns.
Partner with offshore development team(s) for setting the standards and successful execution of the software solutions.
Influence strategy and roadmap through your technical and non-technical insights, take ownership to deliver the roadmap.
Design and develop end-to-end solutions that enhance software architecture and automate solutions.
Build reliable, high-performance Web Services, APIs, and SDKs that improve customer's experience.
Engaging with customers and building decision support interfaces for developers and technical leaders.
Learn from others and help grow those in your team to achieve their best
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
4+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years experience building cloud services on AWS
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs and product strategy
Depth in data structures and algorithms, especially those dealing with concurrency or scaling.
Hands-on experience with a multiple programming languages such as Javascript, Java, C, and Python
A Software Engineer or Software Developer with an appetite for learning and raising the bar
Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
2+ years experience working in teams following Agile methodology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications:
Masters in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
1+ years experience working with Salesforce Applications
Experience building large-scale software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
Hands-on expertise across disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end software systems and all points in between.
Experience communicating with users, software development engineering teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features and technical designs.
