DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a Senior Immigration Specialist to support the needs of our growing organization. The Global Immigration Team is a group of project managers, analysts, and experienced immigration subject matter experts who act as strategic partners and consultants to business leaders and partner support teams. The team centrally manages global immigration filings and the vendors that support Amazon, and delivers projects to improve quality, regulatory and compliance, and experience for immigration services at Amazon.

This work will include managing a global portfolio of legally complex immigration work such as filing strategies for entity restructures, creation of processes and strategies to ensure immigration compliance, impact assessments and response strategies to new immigration policies. You will partner closely with other peer Immigration Specialists, which include those with specific program and project oversight who support critical projects on our Strategic Projects, Vendor Management, and Process/Technology teams.

Responsibilities include:
Work with other team members and immigration service providers as needed to manage complex immigration problems with a focus on seamless immigration support delivery to ensure optimal employee and stakeholder experience
Build durable, sustainable, and flexible processes that produce positive and reliable results
Continually identify areas of redundancy or no-value add to ensure process, procedure, and staffing optimization
Create tracking mechanisms and other dashboards that measure overall health of programs, such as cycle times, user experience, and trends
Work with senior leadership within the Global Immigration Team, Legal, Public Policy, Public Relations, and HR Risk and Compliance to review and understand impact of immigration changes and develop associated processes or filing strategies as needed
Mentor other Immigration Specialists on the larger team, particularly in program and project management, and provide stretch opportunities where appropriate based on interest/skill

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in a related field (such as HR, business)
6+ years of project management experience, either within a law firm (such as a supervising paralegal or managing attorney with responsibility for immigration petition preparation/filings) or in-house in an organization with a significant volume of work and process optimization
3+ years of experience in managing complex projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

J.D. or Masters degree in related field (such as HR, MBA)
10+ years of high volume business immigration experience or program management with heavy emphasis on continuous improvement, project management
Successful record of building, improving, and running operational business processes, ability to drive program effectiveness and high levels of customer satisfaction
Experience identifying and resolving complex issues, assuming leadership roles in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment
Excellent written and verbal communications - ability to interface with all levels of the organization
