DESCRIPTION
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Worldwide Financial Services team is looking for a Market Development Specialist to join our fast-paced team and help drive worldwide AWS adoption in Banking. As a Financial Services Market Development Specialist you will have the opportunity to be part of a team focused on accelerating technology adoption of cloud computing, working with C-level and line of business executives across our customers, and internally with sales and marketing, partner, product teams and AWS senior leadership to meet our customer needs. You will drive new business in banking, leading the organization as a whole to sell into that market effectively, developing programs to accelerate our customers move from legacy on-premises environments to AWS-based services. Your specialized industry knowledge and expertise bridges businesses and technology, and appreciates the unique regulatory and compliance environment that our customer base operates in. You can speak the language of our customers, mapping their business and regulatory needs into AWS services and solutions.
Your responsibilities will include driving top line revenue growth and overall end-customer adoption across the banking market segment. You will enable AWS Financial Services field teams across all sales segments and geographies to more effectively drive their day-to-day interactions with key prospects and customers. You will work closely with AWS Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Security, and Compliance to develop and promote cloud best-practices in areas such as security, resiliency and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the AWS product and services teams to help evolve AWS offerings for more rapid financial services adoption.
The ideal candidate will possess a business development and financial services background within banking. The candidate should have demonstrated experience engaging senior-level executives in past roles, and an understanding of the overall Financial Services landscape, with expertise in core banking systems and infrastructure. You will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the skill-set to drive tactical execution of sales and market development goals.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Serve as a key member of the Market Development team in helping to drive AWS marketing, sales, and technical strategies for the financial services industry
Define and size industry segments, identify key solution opportunities, and identify industry partners including ISVs/solution providers and system integrators
Contribute to strategic market development plans for banking and ensures these plans are in line with AWSs strategic direction
Define industry-specific messaging and collateral that effectively communicate the AWS value proposition financial services cloud services
Execute the strategic market development plans in aligment with with internal stakeholders including sales teams, solution architects, professional services and support teams, legal and contract teams, and the AWS service teams
Broaden and deepen the sales pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers
Understand the unique technical requirements of financial services customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings for our largest and most complex customers
Understand and exploit the use of Salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems for campaign tracking and pipeline management
Prepare and present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to driving market adoption
Travel may be required for this role, up to 50%
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree
7+ years of financial services business development, enterprise solution selling, or product development experience, specifically in the banking sector
Understanding of the complexities of large regulated financial services IT environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, including strategic partners and ISVs
Ability to problem solve and get things done
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of financial services business development, enterprise solution selling, or product development experience, specifically in the banking sector
Demonstrates thought leadership in the Financial Services space, and is able to credibly represent AWS at industry events, conferences, symposiums, etc.
Technical knowledge of Financial Services applications, platforms, and data ecosystem
