AWS Global Trade and Product Compliance (GTPC) ensures that Amazon complies with safety, trade, environmental, and other laws worldwide. Our team, GTPC Tech, builds web applications and services to manage, measure and automate our compliance processes. We are hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to help shape the technical vision for our Compliance Engineering platform.

As a senior software development engineer, you will join the ranks of a large and growing community of senior engineers who are redefining how distributed systems are scaled and operated. You believe in high standards for code quality, code reviews, source control management, testing, and operations, and help develop engineers in GTPC and beyond. You believe technical standards are a mechanism for achieving results and have ambition to contribute to Amazons overall technical architecture and engineering practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years professional experience in software development
- 3+ years of experience in design and development of data driven software systems in a highly ambiguous environment
- 3+ years in more than one programming language with Java/Python/Javascript/C/C++/C

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with serverless computing, enterprise-wide systems, and AWS products
- Experience working successfully with partner teams at remote locations
- Understanding of Agile software engineering practices
- Experience mentoring software engineers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
- Meets/exceeds Amazons leadership principles requirements for this role
- Meets/exceeds Amazons functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
