The world-renowned R&D teams at Xerox PARC have been developing new technologies designed to address many of the most complex and hard-to-solve challenges in the Cleantech sector. The Test Engineer for Cleantech is a newly created role that will work closely with the VP and Head of the Cleantech Business Unit and the R&D team at PARC to bridge novel thermal-fluids systems technologies into productization in Xeroxs new Cleantech Business.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation for Cleantech solutions and be a part of creating and launching cutting edge technology.

Responsibilities:

* Designing and executing test plans on fluid/thermal and electrochemical systems and subsystems to address performance, reliability, and robustness
* Designing and building test rigs and data acquisition systems to evaluate performance and reliability of various fluid/thermal/electrochemical components and systems
* Analyzing test data and working to understand expected and unexpected results
* Troubleshooting complex systems consisting of electrical, air, water, and refrigerant systems
* Coordinating with different design groups to address changes affecting multiple aspects of a system
* Ensuring that Design Verification Testing and Stress testing can fully qualify components for production launch
* Summarizing experimental findings to promote changes to design and/or process workflow
* Documenting test procedures and pass/fail criteria based on data for product launch
* Work with manufacturing to set up in-house acceptance testing for QA and build
* Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis

Qualifications:

* MS in Engineering, Physics, or applied sciences
* >5 years experience in working with complex fluid/thermal systems, ideally including experience with HVAC
* Strong critical thinking skills: ability to deep dive into cause-effect to understand why something may fail
* Demonstrated history of testing, analyzing, and troubleshooting fluid/thermal systems
* Structured problem solving skills leveraging inputs such as functional documentation (electrical schematics, control logic, gas flow paths)
* Experienced in instrumentation and data acquisition systems, as well as various forms of temperature, pressure, and flow measurement
* Ability to read and understand system level interconnect diagram, P&ID and electrical schematic.
