Position Overview:
Freddie Macs Finance Division is currently seeking a highly-motivated individual for a Financial Controller Accounting Senior role within the Single Family accounting baseline area. In this role, the individual will be responsible for the accounting close cycle execution, related financial reporting, financial results analysis and data analysis for issue-resolutions or systems implementations for various loan and security activities.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with an innovative thinking to improve processes or solve issues, can execute with diligence and limited direction and can independently settle and develop approaches to ensure accuracy or solutions to issues, and is comfortable to work across divisions to solve data issues!
Our Impact:
The Finance team in the Single Family segment is primarily responsible for the accounting close execution, financial reporting disclosures, financial research & analysis, special projects, including the following:
* Perform and/or review daily and monthly validations/reconciliations reconciling between the subledger to general ledger to source systems
* Prepare or review journal entries
* Running/creating SQL queries for financial close process
* Research and resolve data or other issues as they arise in daily or monthly tasks
* Support and coordinate with internal and external audit
* Support SOX documentation requirements
* Prepare ad-hoc requests when needed
* Understand & interpret Freddie Macs accounting policies to ensure that the accounting performed align with GAAP
* Interact and communicate effectively with the business and other upstream or downstream partners to resolve issues and/or understand unique business transactions
* Preparing monthly and quarterly analytics reports
* Prepare or review quarterly footnotes or disclosures to support public financial reporting
* Support ad-hoc financial analysis requests and special projects
* Solve sophisticated business issues by putting pieces together and understanding how our systems work
* Work with business partners, such as ICM segment and Servicing Operations for special projects to solve operational challenges.
* Build systems and update accounting engine for new initiatives, products or accounting policy changes.

Qualifications:
* Typically has minimum 5-7 years of related experience
* Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
* Strong analytical and quantitative skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word
* Proficiency in writing queries in SQL and/or SAS
