Optum Advisory Services is seeking a service-oriented Director, Business Analytics SME to provide operational leadership and subject matter expertise in the area of healthcare provider analytics functions, governance and operations. The Director will be responsible for supporting end-to-end delivery of managed analytics programs. Key activities include leading diagnostic assessment of client analytics functions, developing and proposing repeatable managed analytics services solutions, and leading transformation agendas designed to create high-value analytics organizations.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Lead the development of managed analytics programs to meet emerging customer needs, including strategy, operating modeling design, governance structures, data platforms and architecture, and talent
* Lead implementation of client analytics transformation agenda including functional and technology roadmap and required organizational changes to support client partnership agreements
* Lead the development of standard managed analytics program structures and operating models to enable repeatable ed and scalable programs ed across a range of program across a range of client types
* Work with Optum analytics and transformation leaders and key client stakeholders to identify and close gaps in current client analytics operations and facilitate needed change management to drive performance improvement and a service-oriented mindset
* Direct responsibility for delivery oversight of large-scale program execution. Large scale programs are defined as high cost, high complexity and/or high risk
* Guide a team of analysts, senior consultants, and subject matter experts to deliver managed analytics engagements
* Build relationships with clients to develop long-term managed analytics programs using (or employing) a service-oriented approach
* Mobilize a team of fellow Optum experts to assess the maturity of an organization's analytics program and architect a future state solution as part of a broader long-term partnership
* Act as a subject matter expert around health system analytics function, operations, and governance
* Work closely with Optum consulting teams, product teams, and growth offices to promote and drive analytical services multi-year engagements
* Convey the value story of managed analytics for organizations moving into value-based care, as well as innovative and/or high-end analytics
* Support analytics P&L, building efficient, repeatable processes to deliver profitable growth

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree
* 10+ years of healthcare experience
* 5+ years of Provider (health system) analytics as it relates to clinical data
* 5+ years of senior leadership experience at the Director level or above within a provider organization
* 3+ years of experience with provider operational data and healthcare administrative data as it relates to value-based care
* 3+ years of solo experience leading initiatives and/or projects
* 3+ years of experience working with C-level executives
* Willingness to travel 25% (occasional)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Business, or Data Science
* Experience leading a health system analytics function
* Depth around clinical topics, disease prediction, disease states, strategic market assessments
* Background in management consulting
* Experience in understanding health ecosystem - understand parameters around how providers and payers work together, and how analytics is enabling transformation
* Experience developing new business and managing client relationships in a consulting environment
* Ability to communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing
* Ability to work on multiple client engagements
* Experience and credibility interacting with C level executives, including medical directors
* Experience managing a team of data analysts, with proven success to mentor, guide, develop and grow the team

Colorado Residents Only: The salary for Colorado residents is $110,200 to $211,700.
