Job Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. General maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Operate all assigned electrical and mechanical equipment for the purpose of troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance also conducts tests of installed/repaired equipment/machinery and makes final adjustments.

Under supervision: installs, maintains, repairs, and/or rebuilds complex machines and plant equipment. Identifies all parts, supplies and services required to maintain equipment in assigned area and completes work orders in a timely manner meeting or exceeding pre-established deadlines to reduce downtime and meet production goals. Performs basic electric troubleshooting such as fuse and continuity, down time, and meet production goals. Performs basic electrical troubleshooting such as fuse and continuity checks. Position requires lifting, reaching, rotating, walking, climbing, bending, and squatting. Work environment is cold, hot, wet, dusty and noisy. Must be able to use basic hand and power tools to include: drills, grinders, drill press, band saws, multi-meter and other tools.

Requirements:

* Must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally
* Must be a full-time team member and have completed the 90-day probationary period. If there no qualified candidates, probationary team members will be considered.
* Must not have a written warning or written warning with suspension in the last 6 months.
* Must not have a self-demotion or declined a job bid in the last six (6) months, unless the bid is to a higher class.
* Must have less than 8 attendance points at the time of the bid and to be awarded the job.
* Any team member who accumulates 8 or more attendance points, who holds a class 2 or above position, will be demoted to any available class 1 position in the plant.

DISCRETIONARY JOBS are awarded to the best qualified candidate based on qualifications to include, work history, attendance, discipline, and position requirements.
