Job Description

These positions are primarily responsible for upkeep of the facility, which includes landscaping, painting, snow removal, vehicle maintenance and repair, lawn care, pipe insulating concrete/masonry work, and 110/220-volt electrical installation and upkeep. As well as janitorial duties, and any other assignments given by management. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required in all areas. These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces.

The successful building maintenance candidate must complete Level 5 Building Maintenance in the specified time period of (9 months) or they will be returned to their previous department or a production labor position.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants are required to submit a COMPLETE APPLICATION to include all Work History with dates and Education.
High School Diploma or GED.
Application/resume must show work experience or training in these areas: Must have 1 years' experience or education in at least two (2) of the following areas; carpentry, 110/220 electrical, concrete masonry, pipe insulation, vehicle repair, painting, plumbing.

* Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.

* Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of TMs from Hourly to upper Management and Government Officials.

* Must be able to read manuals and printed directions to repair equipment and use cleaners, solvents and paints.

* Must be willing and able to work any department or shift.

* Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays.

* Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 plus pounds as necessary.

* Must be willing and able to stand 8 to 12 hours a day on hard floors.

* Must be willing and able to work in confined space and working at heights above normal work area; use of ladders, lifts, and scaffolds; as well as any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

* Work in extreme hot or cold temperatures.

* Meet all physical requirements (approved by health services).

Internal candidates must have passed your probationary period and be a regular full-time team member to be eligible.
Internal Candidates must have an attendance level of 6 points or less to be considered for this position and will be required to maintain this attendance level or they will be removed from this position.
Internal Candidates must not have received a written warning within the last 6 months, and no safety/core safety violations within the last 12 months.
