Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager of Traffic Administration to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.

The selected candidate will manage a program or a function within the larger organizational unit, setting and operating to objectives and providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives and company policy.

The Manager Traffic Administration is responsible for plans, schedules, and routes of inbound and outbound domestic shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy. Schedules with carriers, reconciles freight bills, prepares and negotiates claims, and selects or recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluates past performance and cost of transportation.

Responsibilities Include:

* Directs dispatching and routing activities and tracks transportation vehicles.
* Ensures that customer difficulties or problems are investigated and resolved.
* In collaboration with other managers, develops and implements policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations.
* Ensures compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, environmental policies, and government regulations.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Big picture thinking skills to address top-level concerns and find the best path forward from all of the available data
* Interpersonal skills to help them communicate with both executives and employees in order to create and administer policies
* Strong personal and professional judgment
* Ability to respond quickly to a shifting reality and adjust initiatives and priorities accordingly
* Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority, which is essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience in transportation management, logistics, shipping/receiving and/or supply chain industry experience.
* Experience with the use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), MS OFFICE (Excel, Word, Power Point) applications AND Customer service amp; problem-solving skills.
* Experience leading teams and trainings and interfacing with outside vendors
* Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications related to hazardous material handling and disposal
* Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance as well as Special Program Access (clearance and program access not required to start)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree
* Experience with DCMA e-tools suite
* Experience leading logistic elements; supportability, inventory management and logistics support
* Advanced experience with MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Aerospace amp; Defense sector experience
* Current active DoD Secret Clearance
* Current Hazardous material Certification
