SSSD has an opening for a Principal Contract Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

As an Principal ContractAdministrator you will be required to deal effectively with competing prioritiesand deadlines and handle multiple tasks as well as this possess the ability towork well with others in high-stress high-volume situations, effectivelyinterface with internal functional and program organizations, effectively dealwith external customers and meet program goals/objectives.

Essential Functions:

* Administers,extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts.
* Experiencewith Cost reimbursable contracts, negotiations and closeouts.
* Conductsproposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, andcustomer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition andfulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, andcustomer specifications.
* Examines estimates of material, equipmentservices, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules toensure accuracy and completeness.
* Preparesbids; processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises managementof contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintainshistorical information.
* Thisposition requires a background in contract administration, riskassessment/communication, strong negotiation skills, excellent written andverbal communication skills and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
* The idealcandidate will be a team player but also a strong independent contributor, willbe proactive, will present leadership skills, will possess good analyticalskills, will demonstrate problem solving skills, will be detail-oriented, andhave strong interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills with aproactive and strategic mindset.
* Fundamental knowledge of the FAR and DFARs, generalknowledge of pre and post-award federal government contracting industrypractices, techniques, and standards.
* Demonstrates the skill and ability to performmoderately complex contracts administration tasks, to include proposalpreparation, the development of change orders and processing of inter-companywork orders.
* Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problemsof moderate scope and complexity. Works under only very general supervision.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Exceland Word.
* Demonstrated experience with highly effective verbaland written communications and presentation communication

This positions standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off of work.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:
Attainment of one of the following years of experience in Contract Administration, Business or Engineering:
a. 4 years experience with a Masters Degree in a Business and/or STEM (Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics)
b. 6 years' experience with a Bachelors Degree in a Business and/or STEM (Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics)
c. 10 years' experience no degree

Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
* An advanced degree in a relevant field (JD, MBA,etc.)
* Current active US Secret government securityclearance.
* Recent experience as a Contracts Professional in thedefense industry
* Experience with multiple contract types
* Familiarity with Northrop Grumman businesses,policies and practices.
* DoD Secret Clearance and have the ability to obtain an SCI clearance
