Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer EGSE Design Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individual to lead the development and integration of complex electronic test systems and electronic hardware units in support of Air Vehicle Element (AVE) HWIL and Enhanced Ground Test (EGT) test environments. This individual would act as the responsible design engineer (RDE) and technical lead of EGSE development for the Guidance Test area.

The electronic hardware development responsibilities include: architecture design, detailed design, performing customer briefings/reviews, hardware test, site integration, and post-delivery support. Primary deliverables are flight electronics test systems and missile ground based hardware.

The candidate will lead a design in a team environment with other engineering functions, including: Systems Engineering, Product Engineering, Software Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Program Management to meet schedule and technical requirements.

Responsibilities include both performing and leading the following:
Detailed Digital, RF, or Analog analysis at the component level
FPGA design, functional simulation, and test vector creation
PCB/CCA design, development, test, and integration
Electronic Unit design, development, test, and integration
Electronic Test System (Test Set) design, development, test, and post-delivery support
Worst case performance analysis for critical Digital and/or RF signals
Developing and presenting design reviews for internal and external customers

Position requires 25% travel to El Segundo, CA

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Active Current DOD Secret Clearance and able to obtain SAP clearance
* Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 14 years of relevant experience; 12 years with a Master's of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 9 years with a PhD
* Experience leading small teams
* Experience in design, integration, and test of Digital and Analog/RF circuits in small to large electronic ground support subsystems
* Experience developing and presenting design reviews for internal and external customers
* Experience reporting schedule and earned value to program leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

* Understanding of basic networking concepts
* Experience in PCB/CCA design
* Experience in design of electronic drawers/units
* Experience in design incorporating FPGAs
