Job Description
Our Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of supply through supply planning, sourcing, making, inventory management, packaging and delivery. We partner across the Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing organizations to build a robust demand and supply plan and ensure we get products to the right customer, at the place, at the right time.
The incumbent serves as support for US commercial distribution activities and will report into the Associate Director, US Commercial Distribution Operations. Responsibilities include daily activities surrounding general operations, receiving, inventory management, order processing, SOX compliance and any needed support to ensure customer service targets are met. The role requires the support / execution of cost reduction initiatives. Employee will monitor inventory and orders between SAP and individual Warehouse Management Systems residing at our 3PLs to assure no supply interruption or false demand signals. Responsible for Good Distribution Practices and Compliance in various aspects of the supply chain. Role will support overall customer satisfaction and customer complaints. Individual pro-actively supports orders, forecasts, and customer inquiries by identifying potential customer service and/or product supply problems and supports the delivery of the appropriate solutions.
Primary Activities:
* Perform daily activities surrounding general operations, receiving, inventory management, order processing, SOX compliance and any needed support to ensure customer service targets are met. Daily compliance activity requires reports to be run at the end of Distribution center workday which is beyond a regular workday.
* Supports collaborative relationships with 3rd Party Logistics Providers and engage with appropriate stakeholders to ensure business continuity
* Interacts and builds relationships with customers and organizations to ensure world class supply to customers
* Interacts and builds relationships with freight forwarders, warehouse representatives, and appropriate logistics organizations to ensure timely shipment and receipt of product
* Communicates any changes to order status to all appropriate individuals/customers along the supply chain
* Acts as Liaison between external providers and internal partners
* Responsible for assisting the maintenance of metrics to report, monitor and improve distribution and customer service
* Ensures a superior Compliance (Safety, Regulatory & Financial) posture
* Supports the follow-through with customer complaints and inquiries
* Supports operational improvements which are consistent with departmental and/or continuous improvement initiatives
Education Minimum Requirement:
* BS/BA in Engineering, science, business, or related area of study.
Required Experience and Skills:
* Previous professional work experience
* Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and order management processes
* Analytical skills: ability to assess, interpret and summarize large data sets
* Experience working with teams
Preferred Experience and Skills:
* Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry
* Two (2) or more years of experience
* Prior experience in Commercial Distribution
* Strong interpersonal and communications skills and a demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve problems
* Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
* Excellent performance in the areas of attention to detail, accuracy, organization and follow-up required
* Demonstrated exceptional judgment and a genuine willingness/desire to develop successful business relationships with customers and commercial colleagues representing our customers
* Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and SAP ERP
