Job Description
This position requires an individual with demonstrated abilities in problem-solving and providing technical leadership. The primary emphasis of this position will be in the area of post silicon debug and optical tools development. The Engineer will use CMOS, device physics, circuit design, logic design knowledge together with tools and good problem-solving skills to identify the one unique faulty node causing the unit to fail to perform its expected behavior. This will require the Engineer to verify failing units on functional testers, utilize modern techniques in fault isolation such as LVP, IREM, LADA, and TIVA, and to apply a strong understanding of the test vehicle in order to locate failures quickly and reliably. Training will be provided on these tools, techniques, and product architecture however the Engineer will be expected to stay abreast of cutting-edge methods and designs through interactions with teams across Intel. Communication skills are a must as the individual will interface extensively with FIB, test, and design engineers in order to understand and explain the failure. The Engineer will be expected to ensure that customers' needs are comprehended and met in a timely manner and to achieve results that are of benefit to both organizations.
The Engineer will also be expected to have the vision and creativity to define the present and future Intel needs in the area of optical probe debug, to initiate and deliver development projects designed to meet these needs by advancing the state-of-the-art techniques used in post silicon debug, and to propagate these projects throughout the company. This may include the development of new test patterns and software, designing and executing proof of concepts or principles projects which demonstrate new techniques and /or tools, and providing technical leadership in Intel Supplier tool and technique development teams. The individual will be expected to effectively represent his/her group in various technical and management review meetings.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field -OR- a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field and 1+ year of experience with:
* VLSI circuit design and device physics
* Knowledge of optics and laser functionality
* Knowledge of Device Physics, Circuit Analysis and general test and DFT methodology
* Good working knowledge of Computer systems (i.e. Windows, python, LINUX and UNIX)

Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong hands-on lab experience
* Computer programming experience and at least basic Python and Unix skills
* A strong interest in design with a desire to deeply understand relevant portions of the product
* Design of experiment (DOE)
* Basic knowledge of CAD tools: Cadence Allegro or Mentor Expedition, or equivalent
* Willingness to work independently and tackle task under minimum supervision
* Statistical/data analysis (MATLAB, Excel, JMP, etc.)
* Familiarity with layout, schematics and PCB boards
