JOB SUMMARY
The OR Scheduling Coordinator Clinic schedules patient procedures and Radiology Imaging, makes adjustments to schedules as necessary to ensure maximum utilization of resources, notifies appropriate personnel of scheduled date and times and types of schedules for distribution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Schedules time for Radiology/Imaging procedures as requested by referring Physicians to achieve maximum utilization of resources.
Contacts patients to confirm scheduled dates and times to confirm Radiology/Imaging schedule prior to actual day of procedure.
Adjusts schedules to utilize time due to cancellations and to accommodate patients in need of immediate or emergency procedures
Contacts Radiology/Imaging Staff affected by schedule adjustments to ensure patient is prepared and necessary personnel and equipment are available.
Complies patient information such as diagnosis, reason for procedure, medications, allergies, and other applicable information provided by Physicians or Office Staff prior to scheduled procedure.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Previous experience in health care revenue cycle preferred.
Good listening, interpersonal and communication skills with professional, pleasant and respectful telephone etiquette.
Able to operate basic office equipment (e.g., computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone).
Able to multi-task.
Able to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent data entry, numeric, typing and computer navigation skills.
Able to demonstrate precision and flexibility.
