Engineers within Intel's Logic Technology Development (LTD) organization are chartered with continuing to meet the challenge of Moore's Law in the 21st century. We innovate leading edge fabrication process and continue to overcome seemingly impossible barriers as tolerances and specifications for building best-in-class computing devices become increasingly rigorous. The LTD Thin Films Module Engineer's role encompasses ownership of critical thin films deposition and planarization techniques, enabling rapid miniaturization in the semiconductor industry and the mass production of integrated circuits.

Duties of engineers in this role include:

* Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments necessary to meet engineering specifications for their process.

* Participating in the development of intellectual property.

* Developing the equipment necessary to leverage understanding gained in reserarch (in collaboration with equipment suppliers), identifying shortcomings, and proposing and evaluating hardware and software modifications to mitigate issues or enable new capabilities.

* Overseeing your unique layer(s) in a manufacturing line which integrates thousands of steps necessary for the manufacture of complex microprocessors, while simultaneously transferring the technology to counterparts in manufacturing sites across the globe.

The candidate should possess the below behavioral traits:

* Demonstrated experience with rapid analysis of complex process issues and identification of a solution path.

* Ability to be self-directing and show initiative.

* Communication skills and demonstrated ability to summarize complex data sets for technical and non-technical audiences.

This is an entry-level position and compensation will be given accordingly

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree majoring in Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study.

* Minimum of 1 year of experience in one or more of the following:

* Hands-on experience using and maintaining scientific equipment

* Research experience, demonstrated experimental and data analysis expertise

Preferred qualifications:

* Semiconductor processing experience is valued but by no means required.
