Humana is looking for a Senior Emerging Technology Engineer (or better known as a Program and Release Manager) to join the Watson Business team in Louisville, KY. The Program and Release Manager assists in the analysis of the requirements for the enterprise and applying emerging technologies to support long-term business objectives. This role is accountable for releases to the production and lower environments.

Responsibilities

The Program and Release Manager researches and recommends changes to foundation architecture and supports research projects to identify and evaluate emerging technologies. This role Interfaces with internal customers, users and staff to evaluate possible implementation of the Watson voice technology (AI) in the enterprise, consistent with the goal of improving existing systems and technologies and in meeting the needs of the business. Additionally, the Program and Release Managers will work closely with project managers, product owners, testers and other IT teams daily to assure the timely release of projects into production environments with minimal defects on 4 delivery platforms.

Key Role Functions:

* Oversee project teams in an indirect reporting relationship, and manage conflicts within

* Efficiently identify and solve project issues and embodies and demonstrates strong leadership qualities

* Resource and capacity planning at the program and project level

* Lead Project Managers in understanding and defining requirements related to project risk

* Develop Requests for Proposals (RFP) for external services

* Design and maintain technical and project documentation

* Have a range of subject matter expertise relative to both PPS and Humana

* Champion the stakeholders/business owners needs and goals during the project

This position will start as remote/work at home due to current COVID restrictions, but will resume as an agile based position once restrictions have been lifted and it is determined safe to return to the office.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
* 3+ years experience leading projects in a technical environment
* Progressive experience managing large scale projects and programs
* Progressive experience managing portfolios of similar or dependent projects
* Previous leadership (direct and/or indirect) experience
* Proven ability to understand capacity and effectively plan resourcing
* Proficient in MS Office to include MS Project
* Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal customers

Work at Home/Remote Requirements

* Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings
* Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a workspace (Satellite and Hotspots are prohibited). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) for optimal performance of is required

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years AI experience
* PMP certification through Global Certification Organization (Ex: PMI)
* Proficient in Visio
* Lean or Six Sigma Certification
* Prior experience in health insurance industry
* Prior experience planning and managing large dollar programs
* Prior experience planning and managing large dollar Technology programs
* Demonstrated experience with process documentation and re-engineering
