Job Description

GDIT is looking for a highly cleared Multimedia Technician to join our team working in fast-paced live event production environment providing direct audiovisual support to our federal government client.

Daily activities include coordinating, monitoring, recording and cataloguing of audio and video media, with over 1,500 recordings per year generated and archived; receiving, distributing, and recording audio and video feeds from event sites worldwide; providing audio and video distribution of events to select agencies in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Our team handles both live and postproduction of events that are streamed live and posted as a video on demand product on the agency website. We provide closed circuit television via fiber optic systems, and telecommunication networks throughout the agency complex. We use digital video editing equipment to provide a daily news summary seven days a week and operates various computer character generation and titling systems to generate text messages on a fully digital High Definition closed circuit television distribution system. Our team also operates and maintains a closed-circuit Internet Protocol television distribution system over multiple data and media networks.

Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in AV and/or television broadcast operation with 3+ years of experience and explicit in-depth knowledge of installation, operation, and maintenance of broadcast-quality audio and video documentation and recording systems.

* Experience shall have included proper utilization, interconnection, and operation of audio and video recording, video editing, and video character generation.
* Experience shall have also included use of schematic diagrams, a variety of test equipment, and application of appropriate electronic formulas involved in such duties as testing, troubleshooting, repairing, constructing, developing instruction on electronic and audio equipment.
* Shall possess knowledge of techniques and standards employed by civilian broadcast and professional audiovisual organizations, including equipment that meets the stringent commercial broadcast specifications.
* Shall possess knowledge of the most current equipment available to maintain day-to-day operation of a professional audio and video production facility. Shall have a proven skill in planning, installing, operating and troubleshooting recording and reproducing systems to obtain commercial/broadcast quality audio and video.
* Shall have a proven skill in coordinating diverse and fast-changing requirements and tasking.
* Preferred skill in closed captioning systems for all original video produced.
* Shall be able to edit television and radio programming and events without compromising substance or context of the original program.
* Shall be prompt, courteous, and maintain a good work ethic conducive to the professional environment.
* Shall be able to perform a live switched event with multiple cameras.
* Shall be able to clearly express requirements to camera and mixer operators on video/audio levels.
* Must be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance
