GDIT is currently seeking a Database Administrator to provide technical support for a new program that provides agency-wide Enterprise IT support. The Database Administrator will serve in a vital program role, responsible for implementing, modifying and deploying software affecting mission critical networks/systems, as well as determining ways to organize and store data.
Identify user requirements, establish databases, and test and coordinate modifications to database systems
Ensures the performance of the system, understands the platform on which the database resides, and adds new users to the system
Plans and coordinates security measures and has a knowledge of data integrity, backup systems and database security
Recommend and implement process and tool improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service area's support to the mission
Perform server performance tuning
Monitor database performance, and manage system data to maintain performance efficiencies
Analyze system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures
Ensure that proposed object definitions are clear, concise, technically correct, and that they represent singular concepts
Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
Support the efforts to deploy SecDevOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation efforts across the service area
Required Skills:
o Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
o Proven working experience as a Database Administrator for Top Secret mission critical systems and networks
o Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
o Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
o Understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
o Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools
o Familiarity with programming languages API
o Strong attention to detail and outstanding problem-solving skills
o Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards
o Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance, with Full-Scope Polygraph
