Product Policy Associate Manager, Instagram Commerce

Job Description

Facebooks Commerce and Payments Product Policy Team is looking for someone obsessed with global markets and e-commerce to work with Instagrams engineering and product teams to build commercial experiences into the heart of Instagram. As a Product Policy Associate Manager, Instagram Commerce, youll work to shape products from the ground up. Youll make sure Instagrams commerce products are built with the highest standards of integrity so that inventory is relevant, purchasing is streamlined and seamless, and our rules governing buying and selling are fair, clear, and consistently enforced. Youll operate at the intersection of product, public policy, legal, communications, operations, sales, and marketing to ensure Instagram is building delightful commercial experiences for people around the world. Youll be agile. Youll see the big picture: where were going and how to steer us in that direction; without losing sight of the small gritty technical details necessary to build global e-commerce products. To be successful youll demonstrate a deep appreciation and understanding for e-commerce activity, including its potential pitfalls and risks. Youll have knowledge of how to develop policies to govern behavior on the internet, and how to work with multiple diverse teams to ensure those policies and perspectives are implemented consistently.

Product Policy Associate Manager, Instagram Commerce Responsibilities

* Work across Instagrams product and engineering teams to provide ongoing product counseling for new features for a variety of commerce products including Instagram Shops

* Serve as a subject matter expert on Facebooks commerce policies

* ensure policies are consistently applied to Instagram commerce experiences

* Design and implement new policies as needed to govern new Instagram commerce products and features

* Coordinate across the family of apps to ensure products take advantage of diverse perspectives while establishing a consistent policy approach

* Identify, monitor, and analyze policy issues that affect Instagram commerce products at the state, national, and international level in partnership with the Facebook Public Policy team and Facebook Communications Team

* Address escalations and press inquiries related to supported products

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Legal, Political Science, or similar field

* 5+ years of experience within public policy, technology policy, economics, e-commerce, global markets, retail, policy development or implementation

* Project, program, or product management experience

* Experience evaluating complex technical projects and distilling them into easily understood concepts

* Experience analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working at a tech company or with tech clients (especially engineers and product managers)

* Experience in e-commerce, retail, and/or online payment systems

* Experience interacting with regulators, policymakers, and the press
