We are building a team focused on building new products that support this mission.
We are seeking a Camera Software Engineer who has experience with camera APIs, media processing and graphics. The successful candidate will have good understanding of Video and Image Capture pipeline for embedded devices. The candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office.

Camera Software Engineer, Facebook Reality Labs Responsibilities

* Design, code, review, and tests camera related software features across all layers of the camera stack.

* Build experiences for the Camera app for embedded devices - design, code, review, and tests camera related software features, especially on Android applications.

* Deliver high quality camera experiences with delightful filter, image quality enhancement and smooth sharing across multiple devices and channels.

* Work closely with System Engineering Team, Hardware team, manufacturing partners and QA teams to deliver best in class products.

* Ensure security of the camera system, protecting our users' privacy.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Experience with camera APIs, media processing, graphics, and understanding of Video and Image Capture pipeline for embedded devices.

* Experience developing HAL implementations for Android devices.

* Experience developing and debugging in C/C++ and Java.

* 3+ years of experience writing software for embedded/mobile platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience developing Android Camera HAL implementations with experience in Camera HAL3.

* Experience with any of: auto exposure and auto white balance algorithms, software control of Image Signal Processors, image sensor drivers, and MIPI/CSI protocol.
