Hardware Security Engineering Intern

Job Description

Hardware security engineering team responsible for putting together security architecture, IP design and security assurance for augmented reality computing systems. It is a vertical team comprising of architects, design, verification and firmware engineers tackling challenging problems related to security and privacy of AR systems.

Hardware Security Engineering Intern Responsibilities

* Work with security architects and designers to develop pre-silicon analysis methods for identifying potential weaknesses in security IPs making them susceptible to side channel or fault injection attacks

* Build automation projects for side channel / fault injection analysis, identify efficient programming of security access control policies etc.

Minimum Qualifications

* Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Hardware Security, or related field

* Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

* Completed coursework or prior experience around 2 or more of the following topics: computer architecture, digital design and verification principles, cyber security, systems security, cyber attack / defense, machine learning, artificial intelligence

* Excellent coding skills in C, C++ and good command over scripting languages such as python, perl, tcl etc.

* Experience with or prior knowledge of security architectures such as Intel SGX or ARM Trustzone, SoC hardware access control mechanisms

Preferred Qualifications

* Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op

* Course work or prior experience with cryptographic modules / hardware design, machine learning, artificial intelligence

* Familiarity with side-channel analysis related to speculative execution or cryptographic hardware

* Familiarity with fault injection attacks on computing systems
