Crowns Food Division is the number one manufacturer of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. Location:

Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA. The Plant manufactures 3-piece steel cans for the food industry over 3 shifts. There are approximately 50 employees at the Hanover location. The Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York PA and the Maryland border.

Position overview:

The Electrician will support plant operations through troubleshooting, performing maintenance, repairing and installing of equipment, electrical systems and components.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Plant Engineer responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical systems and devices within the plant;
Knowledge and solid understanding of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs);
Assist in new installations and upgrades of plant equipment;
Conduct process checks as required;
Perform regular safety inspections to ovens;
Work with and lead outside contractors as needed to complete projects or various plant maintenance functions;
Keep work area safe, clean and organized;
Assist and support other production floor operations as required;
Keep Production Supervisor and Department Manager informed of operational status of equipment;
Complete all administrative tasks, including log books, data entry and record keeping in proper order

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED

6 years experience in manufacturing with hands on experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment

Ability to work overtime or weekends if necessary (for projects)

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and regularly stand, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance

High level of mechanical aptitude required

Experience with high pressure hydraulics and pneumatics

Experience with automated material handling systems

Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics and manuals

Experience troubleshooting magnetic controls (e.g. switches, relays and solenoids)

Knowledge and experience terminating transformers and electric motors

Solid understanding of OSHAs electrical safe work practices (e.g. Lock-out/Tag-out, NFPA 70 Electrical Code, NFPA 79 Machinery Standards)

Demonstrate knowledge of basic troubleshooting and calibration for electronics

Basic knowledge of servo and stepper motors and drives

Experience with installing and fashioning electrical conduit and installing electrical wireway and associated hangers

Able to use DVM, analog type multi-meter, Amprobe, megger, oscilloscope and soldering station
