Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* The ability to maintain systems and records for checking and verifying process compliance including but not limited to: HACCP, Quality Systems, and Laboratory Procedures.
* Verification of all quality, food safety and sanitation checks performed by operations and/or sanitation.
* Pre-Operation inspections and swabbing.
* Process Monitoring and auditing for compliance with GMP, SQF and Safety
* Analytical testing of ingredients and finished product
* Administration of the plant quality system (Hold Policy, Weight Control, Allergen Program, Master Control and SQF Certification Maintenance)
* Must follow OSHA and Plant safety rules.
* Assist quality supervisor in maintaining quality and food safety records/manuals and training new employees;
* Must execute Hold & Release Program for incoming sampling/outgoing shipments;
* Must be able to multi- task and utilize trouble-shooting skills in a team environment. Associates in this position are regularly required to lift/move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
* Any other duties or projects assigned

Qualifications:

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work across functions.
* Creative/analytical problem solving skills and innovative approaches to resolve complex problems.
* Team building skills and experience.
* Must have ability to work with minimal guidance from Supervisor or QA Manager.
* Demonstrated experience of effective leadership working closely with USDA.
* Willing to work first, second or third shifts and weekends. Willing to be flexible with work schedule by working various hours before and after assigned shift.
* Must be able to work in an environment that is hot, cold, wet and loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Education:

Qualified associates must have High School diploma or GED.

* strong working knowledge of database
* spreadsheet, and word processing computer software
* business math skills
* strong working knowledge of Statistical Process Control.

Skills / Proficiencies:

Ensure good communication between production and quality control in order to achieve an efficient collection of data records and to enable a quick response to any discrepancies in test results that might delay shipments or jeopardize samples or finished goods. Detailed orientated to ensure accurate data and test results meet requirements. Good communication and organizational skills.
