Work Location - Remote, Work from Home, United States

Cignas Group Retiree Medical business primarily focused on Group Medicare Advantage, but including PDP and Cigna Medicare Surround is looking for a strong strategic sales and business development leader to oversee high-performing team and grow Group Retiree Medical business to a billion dollars in revenue in 3-5 years. She/he will work closely with matrix partners to strengthen and drive Cigna's overall value proposition that achieves improved client and customer retention, improved competitive positioning, and increased membership and earnings growth while maintaining a strong brand reputation in the marketplace.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborates across the organization including Commercial, Express Scripts, and Government businesses to help drive favorable business outcomes. Develop strong relationships with market and sales leadership, marketing, product, and service partners to influence sales and retention strategies. Works hand-in-hand with regional sales leads and market managers to ensure that each market and each product achieves monthly and annual sales targets.
* A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Researches, analyzes and monitors industry activity, demographic trends and consumer insights to capitalize on market opportunities. Uses those insights, as well as data & analytics to continually refresh strategy, goals and objectives.
* As a Group Medicare expert, leverage industry knowledge to identify ways to introduce and maintain competitive advantages.
* Supports the development and delivery of membership and financial projections and goals for the local sales channel, including field sales and local partner distribution, in partnership with business leaders.
* Provides results-driven leadership and management to ensure sales/distribution activities and decisions are aligned to the strategy, leveraging an internal team of highly competent and driven sales leaders.
* Builds, motivates and cultivates his/her high-performing team. Develops direct reports and provide opportunities to stretch skills, creating clear career paths and a succession plan
* Fosters a success-oriented, accountable culture in the team that brings intellectual curiosity, questions business as usual practices and creates awareness of where a different approach/solutions from traditional channel management is required.

Requirements:

* Bachelors degree highly preferred; advanced degree desirable.
* 10 or more years of experience in a Commercial sales environment with at least 5 years of business development experience in Group Medicare Advantage
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of Group Medicare Advantage business and across the Medicare product spectrum
* Strategic & forward thinking orientation: Strategic thought leadership with ability to integrate industry trends, consumer preferences and internal capabilities to expand reach of Group Retiree Medical business.
* Clear results and accountability orientation: Display an intense focus on owning and achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.
* Strong executive communication skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Experience in developing and delivery of sales and marketing strategies
* Intermediary broker and consultant relationships
* High degree of ethics and integrity
* Service oriented attitude to cooperate with all parties
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Advanced analytical & problem solving skills
* Outstanding track record of business wins
* Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, work in teams, and be flexible within a fast-paced and changing environment.
* Proven track record of success working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement marketing strategies.
* Preferred Experience leading and scaling field sales and local partner development channels
* Preferred Experience delivering distribution partner value & service excellence

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
