Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
The Change Management Risk Oversight (CMRO) is a newly created IRM team within Operational Risk which oversees Enterprise Change Management and assesses the impact of change across business groups and enterprise functions. CMRO is responsible for establishing governance routines and oversight activities which review, challenge, and report change management risk exposures arising from Change Management activities across Wells Fargo. This comprises all types of changes, including strategic, transformational, regulatory, operational, and incremental, that typically result in changes to people, products, services, processes, organizations, or technology.
Within this team, the head of strategy & program design is responsible for establishing the strategy and frameworks that support our mission. These frameworks will be widely used across independent risk management to independently measure and assess change risk and to ensure that risk is within business appetite. The strategy and frameworks are designed to ensure US and international regulatory expectations are achieved and to position Wells Fargo as a leading institution in the management of change risk.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establishes strategies for Change Management Risk Oversight (CMRO) Function across the enterprise
* Scope of decision making is complex solutions must be consistent with Wells Fargo Risk Frameworks including those changing through regulatory matters
* Scope is global (includes international) to ensure strategies and solutions address Wells Fargo home regulatory requirements as well as international regulatory needs
* Develops and drives innovative approaches to change management risk oversight across the scale of Wells Fargo change efforts
* Engages with industry network to ensure Wells Fargo CMRO framework is in line with emerging best practices
* Maintains partnership with senior and executive level management to influence strategic direction and design with impacts across the Enterprise to how we manage Change Management risks.
* Design and manage CMRO implementation plan in line with regulatory commitments
* Work across the CMRO team to establish new standards & best practices
* Work across the CMRO team to scale new risk assessment processes across all lines of business
* Identify resource conflicts and seek exceptions where needed during implementation
* Seek exceptions/ exemptions to risk standards where necessary for the unique nature of Change Management Risk
* Consult and negotiate with executive management to facilitate Enterprise execution of change
* Develop and present to executive management Regulatory & internal communications relating to change
* Partner with front line and ORBO to build out the target state model between the first and second line
* Create and facilitate remediation plans to present to regulators
Selected candidate will be required to work within one of the following Wells Fargo locations: Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Des Moines, IA; Phoenix, AZ; St. Louis, MO; Dallas (Irving), TX.

Required Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Desired Qualifications
* Experience developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or providing oversight to a compliance function
* Financial services industry experience
* Experience working at a federal bank regulatory agency or experience interacting with federal regulatory agencies managing regulatory examinations and continuous monitoring activities
* Leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment
* Strong relationship management skills
* Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
* Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills
* Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

* Meaningful knowledge across enterprise risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance
* Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and regulators, to include virtual, matrixed leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business and enterprise Risk function
* Proven leadership skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end risk management solutions
* Deep understanding of corporate/business policies, and programs
* Demonstrated leadership ability that embodies the Wells Fargo Vision and Values and leadership competencies
* Flexibility and business savvy to navigate a complex, highly-matrixed organization
