Description
Performs laboratory operations, maintains regulatory compliance (especially reformulated gasoline), oversees and trains Lab Technicians and Shift Chemists, and completes special projects. Performs environmental chemist duties, to include the required chemical testing of wastewater and storm water for TNRCC/NPDES permits and the non-permit testing of other environmental samples, as well as any reports and record keeping needed to validate the results.
* Performs analyses, calibrations, methods, and maintenance and repairs of instruments.
* Performs special projects as assigned by Laboratory Superintendent.
* Maintains analytical specialization in certain areas.
* Assists with regulatory compliance, especially with reformulated gasoline.
* Trains and oversees Lab Techs and Shift Chemists in the use of instruments
* Performs eleven required tests on wastewater for permits.
* Tests storm water for COD, oil and grease.
* Tests sour water stripper samples for ammonia and sulfide.
* Other duties as assigned (ordering of instrumentation, supplies, etc.)
