Our new 280,000 sq. ft. facility, in the heart of Silicon Valley, represents an $85 million investment and is a center of excellence for in vitro diagnostic medical device development, manufacture and commercialization. State-of-the-art laboratories are equipped with a broad array of analytical and clinical instrumentation.

* This is an R&D staff scientist position that will support multiple aspects of the business including particles, in vitro diagnostics (IVD) product development, product improvement and product support.
* The candidate shall have extensive experience in organic chemistry and particle-based and other reagent development activities for both immunoassays and molecular assays.
* The position will entail about sixty percent (60%) individual contributor activity at the bench and about forty percent (40%) cross-functional interaction between Particles Operations and Organic Chemistry (OCHEM) R&D/Operations. Both OCHEM and Particles are, for many products, operating under design controls and GMP.
* Therefore, laboratory skills will emphasize GLP, GDP and GMP and the development of, for example, study protocols and manufacturing process instructions.
* The successful candidate will have experience in three primary areas of responsibility: organic chemistry development and scale-up, particle development and scale-up, as well as product improvement/support.
* The candidate shall be able to execute these core duties with minimal supervision and work as part of a team. The candidate is required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills that cultivate collaborations for maximum efficiency.
* The candidate is expected to make leading contributions to growing revenue for the particle business, as well as future custom molecular business.

What will you do?
