The Head Mechanic is responsible for maintaining mobile and stationary equipment in a safe and effective manner.

* Performing regular service and assessment of all forklifts.
* Guaranteeing that the equipment is operating properly and is safe for running.
* Communicating with forklift motorists to recognize of virtually any defects in the forklifts.
* Test pushing the forklifts to detect problems as well as restoring the same.
* Keeping a document of the service cycles and the component adjustments made in the car.
* Adhering to all protection norms laid down by the sector for job related functions.
* Placing requisitions for additional elements.
* Ensuring the proper handling of all fix devices and also testing devices.
* Observing all orders and undertakings as assigned by the monitoring supervisor.
* Observes mechanical devices in operation.
* Dismantles devices to gain access.
* Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
* Lubricates and cleans parts.
* Operates drill press, grinder, welder, torches, power tools.
* Perform basic electrical troubleshooting in accordance w/NFPA
* Utilize lockout/tagout, confined space procedures.
* Operate lift trucks, scissor and boom lifts.
* Lift 50 lb on a regular basis.
* Install plumbing for liquids and air.
* Set up and operates welder to weld iron, steel, stainless steel aluminum and alloy metals.
* Performs some degree of advanced electrical / electronic troubleshooting of control systems.
* Performs advanced, precision mechanical adjustments of critical equipment.
* Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints.
* Run electrical conduit and wiring to secondary control panels.

* High school graduate or GED equivalency required.
* Experience performing job specific general maintenance duties that includes experience in maintenance of mechanical and low voltage electrical equipment.
* Experience operating a forklift required.
