Job Description

The Game Developer eXperiences (GDX) team is looking for a Principal Engineering Manager passionate about the end-to-end developer experience. Our mission in GDX is to empower game creators to realize their dreams. Achieving this requires that developers have a great experience from the day they first login to the development portal, to successfully managing their title after it ships. Your key areas of focus will be developer education, portals, forums, ingestion, title configuration, title management, and more. This spans developers within the Xbox Live, PlayFab, and Game Pass ecosystems

* Build a deep understanding of the experience of our developers today, identify gaps and opportunities, and build and execute on a metric driven roadmap
* Be customer obsessed in everything you do while also delivering on our key business objectives
* Work across Gaming, Microsoft and external partners to deliver end-to-end integrated solutions
* Develop best-in-class engineering for our frontend and backend components ensuring that they are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, maintainable, and actively monitored.u202F
* Recruit, and re-recruit your team for high engagement and morale

* Foster a healthy and inclusive team environment
* Be a mentor for the people on your team and help them grow
* 8+ years of software development experience
* 3+ years people management experience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* A love of leading people, and building incredible teams
* Experience building positive partnerships between teams and divisions
* Able to quickly resolve ambiguity and respond to rapid change
* A strong performance history
* Experience across multiple developer platforms, with an ability to articulate strengths and opportunities
* BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
