Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Perform pricing and valuation of structured finance securities. Review data to perform pricing and valuation of structured finance securities (Products: CMBS, RMBS, CRECLO, DUS Pools, Project Loan Pools, Re-Securitizations). Respond to client inquiries by reviewing the security, loan surveillance, deal structure, pricing assumptions used, and relevant market color for accuracy, and relaying rationale behind inputs to the client. Interact with clients, portfolio managers, valuation controllers, and risk managers. Follow market trends to understand sentiment, research commentary, establish mechanisms to re-underwrite distressed loans and develop an enhanced methodology to incorporate quantitative parameters into security evaluations. Coordinate and communicate with trading desk, research team to ensure data quality. Interpret fundamental and technical factors that impact on security prices. Collaborate with IT support teams to improve processes used for valuation purposes. Assist senior managers with Challenge quality control processes for client portfolios.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Masters degree in Quantitative Finance, Management, Financial Engineering, or related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience as a Financial Analyst, Portfolio Analysis Intern, Assistant Manager, or related occupation. The employer will accept a Bachelors degree and five (5) years of experience in lieu of a Masters degree and two (2) years of experience.

Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills and technologies: structure finance products and securities including CMBS, RMBS, and CLO; analyzing tranche types, deal structures, collateral characteristics, loan performance attributes, and necessary inputs to derive the value of structured finance securities; deriving the value of structured finance securities such as CMBS, RMBS, and CLO; analyzing discounted cash flow projections of structure finance securities backed by Residential mortgages, Commercial mortgages, through industry standard analytic systems;interpreting how trading is performed for structured finance securities including RMBS, CMBS, and CLO; determining the causes behind potential security price movements; impact of the broader fixed income credit markets on different structured products prices; analytical systems used in RMBS and CMBS, including Intex Desktop, Bloomberg, and Database MS Access; and programming in VBA, Python, Tableau, SQL, Sybase, and Access Database to maintain and update pricing methodologies, trade color, and other parameters.
