Team Overview
The Index & Data Solutions team (IDS) is responsible for the index and market data strategy for the firm and the management of the commercial relationships with each provider. We are looking for a motivated, energetic and self-starter individual to be part of our Relationship Management team.
Location: Atlanta, GA or San Francisco, CA
Role Responsibility
The Associate position will be responsible for contributing towards the sourcing of index and market data products and services to support the firms investment and risk management products and processes. In addition, the role will also provide guidance and counsel to internal clients and support external vendor relationships. The ideal person will be high-energy, ambitious, passionate about performance and excited about an opportunity to being part of a high performing team. Critical thinkers with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to simplify complex matters, assess problems and execute on solutions are welcome to apply.
Key roles and responsibilities will include:
* Develop partnerships with external providers to enrich data and enhance our internal data platform
* Partner with senior stakeholders and legal team in the negotiation of various agreements to attain beneficial terms and mitigate business risk
* General understanding of the market data/index and portfolio risk landscape and providers
* Communicate and interpret commercial obligations stemming from provider contracts
* Support requests for new services, renewals, and terminations; proactively communicate status updates to internal customers
* Work closely with internal customers and conduct cyclical business reviews to identify savings opportunities
* Serve as single point of contact for designated data vendors, managing day-to-day communication and strategic business reviews
Knowledge/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree preferably in finance, business, economics or related area
* Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant prior industry experience
* Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry is preferred
* Knowledge of Market Data and Index Providers and ability to interpret contract terms and conditions is helpful
* Proficient with Excel and other MS Office applications, and able to quickly learn proprietary systems
* Outstanding verbal, written and listening skills. Comfortable interacting with and influencing a broad range of audiences, from peers to senior level managers
* Ambitious, proactive problem solver. Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to stretch outside your comfort zone and grow
* Highly detail oriented and customer focused. Ability to prioritize and deliver assignments as promised, while maintaining high quality and consistent results
* Reliable and trusted teammate with strong integrity and ethics. Driven to be a productive part of a collaborative team
