Role Summary:
The Assistant Division Controller position will be delegated various responsibilities of the Controller as the Controller sees fit. The goal of this position is to ease the workload of the Controller, as well as learn the role for potential promotion to Controller at some point in the future. The below job description is the job description of the Controller position itself. The Assistant Division Controller will perform a mix of the below responsibilities.
The Controller is responsible for the accurate and timely financial statement reporting of the Flatbed division of CRST The Transportation Solution, Inc. In addition, the Flatbed Controller oversees the contractor settlement accounting and administration functions for Flatbed Services to ensure quality customer service and policy compliance.
Role Responsibilities:
Complete month end close accurately and within five business days.
Determine and monitor the financial statement accruals and estimates.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Ensure that all revenue and expense items are recorded and are valid, reviewing items with CRST management.
Analyze all financial results and work with CRST Flatbed operational and top management on activities to improve financial performance.
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
Direct much of the workload of the Contractor Settlement and administrative team.
Perform accounting for leases with contractors
Hire, supervise and train nonexempt accounting and administrative personnel.
Perform evaluations, recommend salary increases, and conduct reviews of staff.
Function as a key person within the management staff of CRST Flatbed.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
