Purpose and Objective: SAP America, Inc. seeks a Business Development Specialist at our Birmingham, Alabama location & various client sites nationwide to be responsible for gathering customer data and conducting intensive research pertaining to customer success.

Expectations and Tasks: Assists in the development of new business strategies, conducts market analysis, and drives innovation initiatives across Cloud lines of business, industries and customer segments. Assess opportunities and target markets; conduct intelligence gathering on customers and competitors. Help position our competitive advantage for customers and prospects to leverage cloud deployment models and other innovative technologies to drive customer business outcomes. Journey mapping and benchmarking progress. Organize and support innovation initiatives, projects or major parts of strategy execution with moderate supervision. Business plan development, documentation, and communication. Syndicate planning and execution capabilities ensuring transparency to all stakeholders. Make use of best practices to create repeatable processes and content. Liaison with clients and stakeholders, both external and internal, to develop and coordinate a unified service portfolio and offering framework. Bringing together strategy and portfolio to strengthen our business development capability for strategic growth topics. Align work streams for a solid Customer First business case and funding model. 20% travel required to various client sites nationwide.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field of study
