The Product Management team within Supply Chain Solutions and Business Financing (SCSBF) operates as an agile FinTech group within the broader organization to develop solutions and digital products for multiple growth segments of American Express. Specifically, we lead the supplier payments product strategy to create best-in-class B2B digital solutions for Small & Medium Enterprises and Large & Global buyers and their suppliers.
Supply Chain Solutions is seeking a Product Management Manager/Senior Manager to support the creation, launch, and management of a new best-in-class Working Capital Optimization Receivables (WCO-R) solution. This is GCS first supplier-led B2B offering to provide a closed network working capital solution for suppliers and their buyers. We have proven product/market fit with a successful pilot, and defined a robust roadmap to scale and deliver a seamless experience on modern enterprise platforms.
This role will work cross-functionally to capture customer insights, analyze the competitive landscape, drive the product strategy and experience, define requirements, and evolve the product backlog with Product Development. The Product Management Manager/Senior Manager will represent the product with internal stakeholders and customers.
Responsibilities
* Apply strategic thinking to deeply analyze customer needs, marketplace and competitive dynamics, financial drivers, and business growth opportunities to inform strategy that will solidify American Express as the leading receivables market provider
* Bring digital-first innovation to define the WCO-R user experience, guide digital UX/UI design, prioritize capabilities/features for development based on business value and Outcomes and Key Results
* Engage cross-functional stakeholders, including Sales, Risk, Operations, Servicing, Compliance, Legal and others to communicate the product vision and align on product requirements for development
* Partner with Product Development and Technology on Discovery and throughout the development cycle to monitor build, assess tradeoffs, and ensure delivery
* Navigate intricate business & technology dependencies and communicate impacts to stakeholders
* Create and distribute requirements, user experience, process flows, executive presentations
* Coordinate across teams to launch new solution in market, and manage product post-launch
* Form hypotheses, define metrics, and analyze KPIs in order to continuously improve UX and refine product backlog
Minimum Qualifications
* 4+ years experience in product management or product development
* Enthusiasm for digital innovation, exceptional products and services, deep customer empathy, strong product intuition and skilled at articulation of product functionality
* Experience in delivering from concept to implementation in an Agile or Scaled Agile environment in one or more of the following: enterprise, supply chain networks, B2B industries
* Understand tech and product development processes, known as a business person who can talk tech
* Curiosity to ask the right questions, assess tradeoffs and risks, gain buy-in, make an informed decision, and support that decision with compelling evidence
* Recognize issues quickly and determine how to get a resolution through creative and effective problem solving
* Willing to take initiative and be accountable for results
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with comfort presenting to varying audiences and executive leadership
* Experience with software and product development processes and tools (Rally, Confluence, etc)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Visio
* Team player and flexibility is a must
* Preferred: Experience in supply chain finance and/or receivables finance; FinTech or digital payments platform/provider; Small Medium Enterprise lending
