Weyerhaeuser's Tacoma Distribution Centers currently has immediate Forklift and Building Materials Operator openings. Under the direction of the Site Operations Manager and designated Shift Leads, this position is responsible for all activities associated with the movement and handling of materials related to the warehouse via manual labor and operating a forklift. This position will be on 2nd (evening) shift.

Key functions

* Takes responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others by addressing any unsafe practices observed

* Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to designated area
* Seeks input from operations leader and/or team member when the safety of a task is in question
* Wears all personal protective equipment required
* Safely operates and maintains propane or gas forklift to unload, move, store, stage and load products
* Accurately counts units, multiplies, adds, subtracts, and records totals
* Accurately counts and documents shipping and receiving activities
* Strong customer service orientation
* Pulls and prepares products for shipment
* Able and willing to work on equipment at extended heights
* Willing and able to do other duties as assigned by management

This is not an inside warehouse position. This role will perform manual labor 55% to 65% of the time.



Qualifications

* High school diploma/GED or higher
* Resume detailing education and work history required for consideration
* Understands the customer and whats important to their business
* Must obtain a forklift operator certification upon hire
* Ability to work within a team to solve problems and complete tasks
* Developing knowledge of building materials products, warehouse facilities and lift trucks
* Strong planning and organization skills
* 2+ years building complex engineered wood job packs
* 2+ years using a chainsaw to cut engineered wood products
* Able to articulate different techniques of chainsaw usage to cut different types of wood products
* Ability to work swiftly while maintaining the highest level of safety standards
* You get excited about training in different departments and being asked to work in different areas throughout the day
* Ability to read and effectively use a tape measure
* Experience driving a forklift in production environment
* Able and willing to perform requirements such as working at heights, climbing stairs, working in extreme heat or cold, or working in confined/restricted spaces

Preferred Knowledge:

* Experience driving a Combi forklift
* Computer skills: MS Outlook, SAP or other WMS
