SUMMARY: This position is responsible for coordinating, developing and maintaining simple to complex software systems and environments including 3rd party as well in-house systems; . The primary function and purpose of the position is to coordinate and maintain various systems by communicating with and providing guidance to IS as well as the business units involved. These systems include but are not limited to (SAP, TES, LMS, LME, Peoplenet, ProTread, InfoLink, SafetyDirect, PC Miler, SharePoint sites, pages, lists, access databases and other systems and tools as necessary) This position will be an integral part of software purchase decisions as well as in-house application creation, the Sr. Specialist must collaborate with business unit decision makers and technical staff to ensure that the software purchases and process recommendations meet the needs of the business; communicate with IS and vendors as well as provide status reports where required. The work involves coordinating with many groups including IS, Operational Business Units, Sales, Transportation, Warehousing, Product Movement, and Accounting to understand business needs, gather relevant requirements and validate use case scenarios. The SR. Specialist should have an in-depth knowledge of Transportation, Tyson's distribution network as well as understanding workflows across all areas of operations, including dispatch, load planning, training, safety, recruiting, maintenance and HR, this day to day business knowledge will enable the Sr. Specialist to create and recommend systems and processes to drive efficiencies across the Transportation network. Knowledge of transportation systems and processes based on 5+ years of Transportation experience in Operations. The position requires strong project management skills as well as advanced skills with Microsoft office products and strong process evaluation skills.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience. Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills including Access and Excel, SharePoint, Office 365 and a general understanding of software terminology as it applies to third party applications. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to managers and directors providing statuses of systems and updates in new software research. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical team members. Special Skills: Creative thinking skills are critically important. Supervisory: n/a Travel: Some travel may be required.
