JOB SUMMARY
The positions purpose is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the accounting department through financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Review and analyze multiple reports including the Unvouchered Receipts Report, Weekly Activity Report, Transaction Summary Report and the S0A report to adjust multiple inventory and Cost of Goods Sold components as necessary.
* Manage landed costs items including analyzing freight versus accrual, freight and duty adjustments outside tolerance for previous day postings, and close freight or duty for non-billed items.
* Add and maintain standard costs for manufacturing segment as directed by Plant Managers.
* Prepare credits for drop shipments and invoice adjustments disconnected from the cost accounting module based upon Adjustment Request Forms.
* Compile financial information to perform routine accounting processes such as General Ledger entries and Balance Sheet account reconciliations and Profit & Loss variance analysis including chain plate amortization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
* Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience
* 2-4 years experience with Cost Accounting required. 3-5 years experience preferred.
Professional Skills
* Must have a Cost systems background and excellent analytical skills; and sound understanding of accounting principles.
* Advanced computer skills and proficient knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on Excel. PeopleSoft preferred.
* Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
* Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management and inter-department staff. Capable of working with internal staff from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner.
* Customer Service Respond promptly to requests for service and assistance as needed. Follow up as needed.
* Planning / Organization - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines and shift priorities as necessary. Uses time effectively.
