Newly established Enterprise Payments Group has an opportunity to drive better alignment across Truists payments franchise and to keep the finger on the pulse of competitive developments in this rapidly evolving space. Enterprise Payments Group will partner with all relevant stakeholders to:
* Conduct an objective and analytically driven strategic analysis of Truists payments assets and initiatives;
* Leverage these findings to help imagine, define, and deliver an over-arching payments strategy to influence next generation payment products, services, and infrastructure to meet our clients needs and to drive financial results;
* Evaluate internal, external, and adjacent opportunities, including potential partnerships, investments, and acquisitions to help advance Truists payments capabilities and competitive positioning;
* Serve as a central source of payments industry knowledge and expertise, helping to provide thought leadership, research, and education; and
* Advance the banks agenda among key industry groups and consortia
Job Summary: Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Payments Group, the Enterprise Payments Strategy Manager helps drives the design, development, and delivery of Truists Enterprise Payments Strategy at Truist. Provides thought leadership, strategy and guidance on payments and commerce, and nurtures and promotes payments innovation initiatives across the enterprise. He/She is a lead person for all Retail (or Wholesale) payments strategy activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Lead all things Retail or Wholesale payments strategy
* Work to maintain a cohesive, comprehensive, differentiating, and actionable payments strategy for designated area.
* Work closely with the Head of Enterprise Payments Group to formulate a plan to define and revise strategic direction in Retail (or Wholesale) payments.
* Lead multiple payments strategy projects and initiatives with multiple internal clients at the same time
* Build and maintain relationships with all relevant payments leaders internally
* Lead and participate in an Operational Payments Roundtable with relevant payment stakeholders
* Manage, and actively participate in, Truists portfolio of payments industry consortia, partnerships, memberships, and investments (e.g. TCH, EWS) including representing Truist on committees.
* Serve as a payment SME for Truist Ventures and Digital Strategy to engage the external payments and commerce ecosystem in identifying, qualifying, and/or commercializing prospective partners.
* Support the Truist brand in payments ecosystem, telling our story both internally and externally at industry events and conferences.
* Regularly share perspective on payments and commerce with internal payments leaders and stakeholders to support business initiatives and to ensure that Truist is ready for the future of payments.
* Coach and develop talent
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in quantitative field (engineering, math, economics)
* Masters degree or equivalent education and related training or experience
* 10-12 years of experience in a combination payments and consulting in financial services industry
* Possess financial services experience and deep payments knowledge and experience
* Experience in strategy (corporate or line of business), corporate development or partnerships
* Has held professional services oriented jobs external or internal (e.g. consultant, banker)
* Experience leading complex strategic projects and initiatives; ability to frame complex strategic questions and turn them into projects and outputs
* Ability to lead multiple projects with multiple clients at the same time
* Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Outstanding skills presenting/communicating ideas and data to executive-level leaders
* Strong strategic thinker; maintain the ability to quickly assess complex problems, prioritize key issues, and focus on relevant facts
