* 4-year degree or equivalent combination of technical training and /or 2 years prior supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* 5+ years prior supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Prior supervision / leadership
* Strong drive and leadership ability to be a change agent
* Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization and to lead projects and improvement activities
* Self-starting, results-oriented individual who can be part of a team as well as stand up for tough decisions when required
* Must be well-organized, able to handle multiple projects and priorities, and be adept at information gathering and technical decision-making
* Career oriented to develop into manager role
* Familiar with ISO9001 and ISO14001
* Lean Manufacturing (preferred)
* Consistently demonstrates highest level of personal ethical conduct
* Results driven with emphasis on keeping customer and business commitments
What Youll Do
As a Manufacturing Supervisor, youll lead, manage, support and coach hourly associates to meet production expectations without compromise to plant safety and quality standards.
Specifically, youll:
* Ensures compliance to Standards of Business Conduct through familiarity with related policies and procedures. Trains and motivates direct reports in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.
* Ensure department goals for safety, quality, and throughput are achieved.
* Train and develop team members on work processes and requirements to ensure functioning in a safe and efficient environment.
* Provide production and schedule related information and serve as a communication link between the team and upper management.
* Transition business performance data analysis skills to team members.
* Conduct performance evaluation process for all direct reports.
* Coach team members for increased performance; counsel and take corrective action when necessary.
* Provide and develop leadership. Develop environment where team members coach team members.
* Participate in occasional Kaizen events.
* Drive implementation of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
* Conduct 6S audits, process audits and report production each shift.
* Works with the Value Stream Manager and production control planner to schedule product to achieve timely customer delivery.
* Gives Value Stream Manager requests for staffing level changes.
* Works with Value Stream Manager to maintain actual expenses at or below levels specified in current department budget. Expense areas to be controlled include labor variances, scrap, machine repair expenses, raw material usage, absentee rates, and general expense items.
* Develops and maintains good employee relations by the fair and consistent administration of plant polices, open individual communications, and regular shift meetings.
Other duties as assigned by the Value Stream Manager.
