As the Senior Program Manager you are responsible for the Merchandising and Vendor program vision in the Merchandising PMO focused on growth and efficiency. You will collaborate with leadership, merchandising, vendors, and technology teams to effectively execute company initiatives for vendor setup, quality product data, and event curation. You are responsible for defining and driving the program vision, roadmap, and executing initiatives that align with Zulily's strategic goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Lead the creation and definition of innovative business, process concepts and requirements by collaborating with a team of product managers, engineers, designers and multiple business and operations teams in Seattle and across the country.
* Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to program execution.
* Define, measure and analyze metrics that inform the success of the program and processes for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to our internal and external customers.
* Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm;
* Understand business needs / requirements and develop enterprise-level programs to address those needs; Create program road maps and develop program strategies by collaborating with senior leadership teams; Routinely assess the scalability of a program and ensure that programs continually meet business needs.
* Determine resource needs for programs; influence leadership and make recommendations to ensure programs deliver their intended result.
* Own the daily, quarterly, and yearly operational needs of a program; coordinate internal resources and lead cross functional teams to ensure all program stakeholders are executing their responsibilities within a program successfully.
* Ensure programs deliver results on time while adhering to budget constraints; communicate status with executive leadership on a regular basis.
* Mitigate risk to programs by identifying factors which may hinder program success; Make recommendations to address those needs proactively and negotiate across multiple functions to resolve conflicts and competing priorities.
* Lead a team of Program and Project Managers and provide personalized coaching, performance management, and career development.
* Lead change management activities with internal and external customers
* Oversee the teams project/program management work; provide project and program management subject matter expertise and lead internal process improvements for the PMO as needed.
Qualifications:
* 7+ years in a Program Management or Project Management role with hands-on experience driving product/program strategy, definition and prioritization.
* Experience creating large scale programs which have a material impact to an organization and leaving diverse cross functional teams.
* Experience managing change within extra large organizations or stakeholder groups.
* Clear and precise communication; the ability to describe complicated processes simply, but correctly and bridge communication gaps.
* Ability to assess workload and appropriately delegate
* Resourceful self-starter with a track-record of driving action and results by working with engineering, business teams and customers.
* Ability to navigate within a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high degrees of ambiguity to deliver large and complex projects.
* Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results. Strong problem solving and analytical skills with experience using Lean methodologies.
* Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP or Agile Scrum) preferred
* Experience in agile, lean, and waterfall and the ability to know when to apply the best methodology.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Atlasssian suite (Confluence and JIRA)
* 1-2 years experience leading a small team of direct reports preferred
