Job Description
The Financial Associate Analyst will be a key finance contact for the Columbia team. This role will supervise the payroll and accounts payable accounting processes and will also provide financial expertise and support for several Operational areas, as well as hold responsibilities for SOX compliance testing. The Financial Associate Analyst will assist in preparing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and balance of year forecasts, provide reporting and analysis of actual financial performance, and perform other analysis to enable effective decision making within the Supply Chain organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise Payroll and Accounts Payable accounting processes
* Lead period-end close process and reporting
* Provide insightful analysis and reporting of the period and year-to-date business results vs. AOP and latest forecast to Finance and Operations management
* Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as requested to support innovation, cost savings, and other initiatives
* Partner with Operations and provide them with financial insights to enable them to meet their financial objectives and drive variable performance
* Assist with development of the AOP and balance of year forecasts
* Responsible for quarterly SOX compliance testing and annual self-assessment audits
* Lead and develop the financial coordinators key value-added objectives
* Maintain & enhance controls for plant assets and activities
* General ledger maintenance

Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
* 3-5 years of experience in G/L, cost accounting, or auditing
* Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate findings into action plans
* Excellent organization, presentation, and communication skills
* Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to manage information gathering requests
* Ability to build relationships, manage conflict and embrace change as well as have a positive influence on team members
* Self-directed and results-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Proficient in Excel and ad hoc financial modeling
* Supervisory and SAP experience is strongly preferred
