Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Engineer. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Orlando, FL. The selected candidate will join the team in a strong matrix organization, collaborating with peers across the organization. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
* Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or systems engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software processing systems for product and commercial software.
* Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops software programs, and interfaces with networks and operating systems.
* Participates in the full life-cycle activities of software development to include requirements, modeling, design, implementation, unit and integration test, release, installation and maintenance of software products.
* Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, modifies and sustains C++/C applications and support tools utilizing software engineering best practices and standards.
* Be capable in accomplishing tasks both independently with limited supervision and as a member of a collaborative team

Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors with 2 years of experience
* Having majored in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a closely related Engineering discipline
* Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Current Active Secret or Interim Secret Clearance
* Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
* Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership amp; teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
* Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment
* Demonstrated knowledge of Agile processes and principles
* Experience in object oriented programming and related technologies
* Experience in developing/integrating software solutions for modern languages such as C++/Python/Java/C
